Step up to the Tennant T500 for Heavy-Duty Walk-Behind Performance to Match Any Facility

When the mid-range models aren't keeping pace with your facility's size, soil load, or daily cleaning demands, the Tennant T500 steps up to deliver. This self-propelled battery-powered walk-behind scrubber is available in cleaning path widths from 700mm to 800mm across disk, cylindrical, and orbital head configurations.

Optional ec-H2O NanoClean® technology electrically converts water into a powerful cleaning solution, significantly reducing chemical use, while the ProPanel™ LCD touch screen with Zone Settings™ and optional on-board tutorial videos simplify operator training and allow supervisors to pre-configure cleaning settings for different areas of the facility. With up to 4–5 hours of run time and 3,270m² per hour productivity, this machine is built to deliver consistent results in the toughest environments every day.

Key Features & Benefits of the Tennant T500

  • Quiet-Mode™ down to 62 dB(A) for anytime cleaning without disruption — the T500's Quiet-Mode™ is one of the lowest sound levels available in a heavy-duty walk-behind scrubber, allowing crews to clean during business hours in retail environments, healthcare facilities, schools, and offices without disrupting operations, customers, or patients.

  • Optional ec-H2O NanoClean® technology for effective, chemical-reduced cleaning — Tennant's exclusive ec-H2O NanoClean® electrically converts water into millions of microscopic nanobubbles that clean effectively across a wide range of soils, significantly reducing daily chemical use, lowering operating costs, and supporting sustainability goals without sacrificing cleaning performance.

  • ProPanel™ LCD touch screen with Zone Settings™ and optional tutorial videos — the ProPanel™ touch screen allows supervisors to pre-configure machine settings for different zones within the facility — different cleaning intensities for different floor types or soil levels — while optional on-board tutorial videos simplify operator training directly on the machine without the need for separate training sessions.

  • Smart-Fill™ automatic battery watering for near maintenance-free battery management — the optional Smart-Fill™ system automatically waters the batteries to the correct level every time, eliminating the need for manual battery checking, filling, and the risk of overfilling — significantly reducing battery maintenance time and extending battery service life.

  • Multiple scrub head options — disk (700mm, 800mm), cylindrical, and orbital — for any floor type — the T500's wide range of scrub head configurations makes it one of the most versatile heavy-duty walk-behind scrubbers available, allowing facilities to choose the right head for their specific floor surface, soil type, and cleaning outcome rather than compromising with a single configuration.

Why Choose the Tennant T500 Over Other Tennant Walk-Behind Floor Scrubbers

The T500 sits above the T391 and T300 in the Tennant walk-behind range and is the right choice when the daily cleaning demands, floor area, or soil load have exceeded what a mid-range machine can handle efficiently — but a ride-on scrubber isn't yet warranted.

  • Larger tanks and wider paths than any mid-range model for higher productivity per shift — the T500's 85L solution tank and up to 800mm cleaning path significantly outperform the T391's 70L tanks and 700mm path and the T300's 42L tanks and 600mm path. For facilities where operators are stopping to refill too frequently or the cleaning route is taking longer than it should, the T500's tank capacity and wider path options deliver a measurable improvement in daily productivity.

  • More technology options than any mid-range model for demanding, varied applications — the T500 offers ProPanel™ LCD with Zone Settings™, optional ec-H2O NanoClean®, Smart-Fill™, optional IRIS® Asset Manager, and three scrub head types — a technology suite that none of the T391, T390, T300, or compact models below can match. For facilities with multiple floor types, multiple operators, or a requirement to reduce chemical and water use significantly, the T500 is the first model in the range that delivers the full capability set.

  • The right step before the T600's industrial-scale tanks and cleaning paths — the T500 is the heavy-duty mid-to-large commercial choice. When the T500's output isn't enough, the T600 is the next step in the Tennant walk-behind range. The T600 provides  121L tanks, cleaning paths up to 900mm, and run times up to 7 hours.

Choosing the Right Scrub Head for Your Tennant Floor Scrubber

The Tennant T500's ability to accept disk, cylindrical, and orbital scrub heads across multiple cleaning path widths is one of its most important advantages over simpler mid-range machines. Choosing the right head type for the floor surface and application makes a significant difference to cleaning performance, floor condition, and chemical consumption.

  • Disk (700mm or 800mm) — the most common and versatile option, suitable for smooth hard floors including VCT, polished stone, ceramic and porcelain tile, epoxy, and sealed concrete. Disk heads use flat circular pads or brushes to scrub the floor surface and are the right choice for everyday maintenance cleaning of flat, uniform surfaces. The 800mm disk configuration delivers the highest theoretical productivity in the range at 3,270m² per hour — the right choice when covering maximum floor area per shift is the priority.

  • Cylindrical (700mm) — the right choice for rough, uneven, or textured surfaces including grouted tile, uneven concrete, brick pavers, and outdoor hardstand areas. The rotating drum-style brush reaches down into grout lines and surface irregularities that a flat disk pad skips over, delivering a more thorough clean on surfaces where a disk head would simply skim across the high points. Also capable of picking up fine debris without a separate sweeping pass — particularly effective on outdoor and semi-outdoor surfaces.

  • Orbital (700mm) — the specialist option for floor finish removal, deep cleaning of porous surfaces, and chemical-reduced or chemical-free cleaning. The orbital head moves in a random circular motion at high speed, delivering a more aggressive scrubbing action that removes floor finish without harsh stripping chemicals — significantly reducing chemical use, labour time, and floor downtime. With up to 77 kg of down pressure (one of the highest orbital down pressure settings available) the T500 orbital is the most capable chemical-free floor maintenance tool in the Tennant walk-behind range.
